3M^TM Scotchcal^TM ElectroCut^TM Film Series 5725

Use this durable opaque film to create pre-spaced, electronically cut graphics for nearly any commercial or industrial application. It is ideally suited for making emblems, vehicle graphics, labels, striping, general signage and two-way window markings.

When used with compatible products, produced by one of 3M’s Scotchprint® Graphics Authorized Manufacturers and applied according to written instructions, this film can be used to produce a Scotchprint® Graphic.

Features

Film series 5725 features 3M’s patented E-film construction, offering the following benefits for medium-term, interior or exterior applications:

flexible at a wider range of temperatures
consistent gloss level without chalking
minimal shrinkage, which eliminates edge lifting
good surface conformability
excellent cutting on electronically controlled pin-fed, friction-fed or flat-bed cutters

Basic Construction Characteristics

Film series 5725:

is a 2.4 mil (0.06 mm) opaque film with E-film technology; 3 to 4 mil (0.07 to 0.10 mm) with the adhesive
has a clear, pressure-sensitive adhesive which adheres quickly to a substrate
has a 90# paper liner

Application Surfaces & Substrates

Film series 5725 can be used on flat or simple curved surfaces, with and without rivets. Appropriate substrates include automotive paints, glass and acrylic. It has an application temperature range of 50º to 90ºF (10º to 32ºC).

Compatible Products

This film is printable using selected 3M inks, overlaminates and overprint clears.

Additional Product Information

Available in rolls, film series 5725 comes in punched 15" and 30"widths and unpunched 15", 24", 30" and 48" widths. The minimum recommended cutting height for letters is 0.375 inch (10 mm).

Handling & Storage

Unprocessed film has a shelf life of two years; processed film has a shelf life of one year. It should be stored in a clean, dry area, out of direct sunlight and at a temperature less than 100º F (38º C).
