Use this durable, removable film to create commercial vehicle or fleet graphics, bus graphics, emblems, striping, transit advertising, point-of-purchase or trade show displays, general or flexible signage, architectural graphics and vending machine or refrigerator case graphics both indoors and out.

Film 8640 (ES) is especially well suited for large graphics because it features 3M’s patented pressure-activated adhesive, making it easier to reposition graphics until firm pressure is applied during installation.

When used with compatible products, produced by one of 3M’s Scotchprint® Graphics Authorized Manufacturer and applied according to written instructions, this film can be used to produce a Scotchprint® Graphic.

• The adhesive on film 8640 (ES) is gray, giving it excellent hiding power.

Film 8640 (ES):

• is a 4 mil (0.10 mm) opaque vinyl film; 4.5 to 5 mil (0.11 to 0.13 mm) with the adhesive
• has a positionable, pressure-activated adhesive for easier application of large graphics
• has a 94# polyethylene-coated, humidity-stable paper liner

This film can be used on flat surfaces with and without rivets. Appropriate substrates include FRP, glass, metal, paint and rigid plastic. It also can be used to decorate 3M^TM Panaflex^TM Awning & Sign Facing 930 and 945 GPS. Film 8640 (ES) has an application temperature range from 40º to 100ºF (4º to 38ºC).

Film 8640 (ES) is available in 35.5", 49" and 54" wide x 50-yard long rolls and 54" wide x 100-yard long rolls. Longer roll lengths are available upon request.

Unprocessed film has a shelf life of two years; processed film has a shelf life of one year. It should be stored in a clean, dry area, out of direct sunlight and at a temperature less than 100ºF (38ºC).
